The project involved the complete study, engineering, installation, testing, and commissioning of the medium voltage (MV) power distribution upgrade for eight substations at ONEX Elefsis Shipyards. The upgrade was designed to enhance operational safety, reliability, and future power capacity for heavy industrial and shipbuilding operations.

The scope included the replacement and upgrade of MV switchgear using advanced Siemens technologies, featuring withdrawable NXAIR C primary and 8DJH GIS secondary switchgear panels. The project also incorporated Siemens SIPROTEC & Rayrolle protection relays, current and voltage transformers fully compliant with IEC and EN international standards.

Comprehensive electrical engineering studies were carried out, including selective protection coordination, fault simulations, transient analysis, relay settings, and system testing using certified equipment. The successful completion of the project delivered a modern, safe and scalable electrical infrastructure for one of Greece’s major shipbuilding facilities.
